All The Things I Know and All The Things I Don’t / Sweet Birthday Baby!

I bet you can tell by the fact that we’ve been a little quiet that things are moving behind the scenes over here at Pass/Fail! A lot has been changing for a while now.

A few months ago Jordan sat me down and let me know she’d be leaving to go off on a great adventure in June. I knew that around then I’d need to take some time to figure out what’s next for this corner of the internet. We’re so proud and excited for her!! She’s hiking the Camino trail right now in Spain.

I’ve also just gotten back from my trip to Europe. While I was there my camera gear got stolen and honestly I’ve been mentally and practically recovering from that since.

As I’m writing this I’m getting ready to host our first networking meet-up! Something I’m incredibly excited about, and something I am so passionate about. We have 175 RSVPs for this event, which is free to kick off a new era and I feel nerves I haven’t felt in a while. I’m expectant of what might happen. I’m ready for the magic putting strangers in a room together just to talk and say hello. It’s going to be really exciting.

June 6th marked one full year of showing up here.

One full year of trying to use whatever tools I could to show up and show you that you’re not alone and that you deserve success. It’s been a year of intimately trying to understand failure to the point of looking at it as a friend.

I am so grateful for this space. I’m grateful for you. I’m grateful to the people, who are steadily increasing in number, who have started to recognize me in public not from my personal work or Instagram account, but from this corner. I’m grateful to every single person who has volunteered their time to write for our publication that does not yet make money, and thus does not pay.

If you guys keep coming around, I’ll stick with it. Hell, even if you don’t keep coming around I’ll probably stick with it. I’ve learned so much here.

I promise I’ll keep being honest with you about where we’re at.

And I’ll keep doing my best.

Please keep reading. We’ve got such important stories to tell and we’re doing good work here. As I figure it out we’re going to be publishing once a week to make sure we can stay consistent.

I want to finish by saying THANK YOU one last time.

I’m grateful to have a space where I feel comfortable figuring stuff out. Which I’m doing right now. With this little neighborhood of the world wide web.

I don’t know very much but here’s what I do know:
We’re staying around.
We’ll publish your work.
I’ll work to grow this space into something we could have only dreamed about.

If you want to submit a piece, email me! We need to hear what you have to say.
